CLASS RULES, REGULATIONS & QUALIFIERS
These classes are affiliated to the British Show Horse Association. Horses must be registered with the BSHA, Sport Horse Breeding (GB) or The Showing Register and all riders, owners and producers must be Members of the British Show Horse Association, Sport Horse Breeding (GB) or The Showing Register. Riders must be 15 years of age or older. Registration numbers must be quoted on entry form

Horse of the Year Show – Catplant Group of Companies Show Hunter of the Year
Classes E126 - E128 & E130 are qualifiers for the Horse of the Year Show at the NEC Birmingham, 9th - 13th October 2024. No horse lower than 5th place will qualify with the exception of the BSHA Hunter Show. These classes will be run in accordance with the general rules as set out in the Horse of the Year Show rulebook, a copy of which can be downloaded from www.hoys.co.uk. All data given upon entry of these classes is provided to Grandstand Media Ltd. and stored on the Grandstand Entries System. For full policy details please visit www.grandstandentries.com. Qualification will be verified by the Horse of the Year Show Office. Horses competing at the Horse of the Year Show and qualifying shows in the Hunter sections of the Sport Horse Breeding of Great Britain classes at their Affiliated Shows cannot compete in Hack, Cobs and Riding Horse classes at the same show, on the same day and vice versa.

Exhibitors are required by DEFRA to carry with them Official Identity Documents for all horses/ponies when competing or travelling. Competitors are reminded that it is a DEFRA requirement that the Official Identity Documents must be in the name of the legal owner within 30 days of ownership. This must be registered with the breed society, relevant studbook or ID issuing agency, dependant on breed/type of animal. Spot checks may be carried out at qualifying shows and by breed societies.

BSHA Supreme of Season Finals
The highest placed unqualified prize winners in each open affiliated class will qualify to compete in the BSHA Supreme of Season Finals. The Finals will be held at the BSHA National Championship Shows in September 2024.

 

Supreme Ridden Horse Championship
The Champion, Reserve Champion Show Hunter and the winner of class E130 will go forward to the Supreme Ridden Horse Championship, held on Monday afternoon in the Main Ring.

Class E130: Hamilton Tarmac Small Show Hunter of the Year

Mare or gelding, 4 years old or over, exceeding 148cm (14.2hh approx) but not exceeding 158cm (15.2hh approx). A horse, which is registered as a Small Hunter, cannot compete in an Open Weight class and vice versa. When registering with the BSHA, a current Joint Measurement Board Height Certificate (JMB) must be forwarded with the application. Judges are not empowered to question the height of a Registered Small Hunter.
