There are a staggering 1,500 horses, ponies and donkeys from Thelwells to Shires taking part in over 140 different classes ranging from gymkhana classes to international show jumping and Horse of the Year Show qualifiers.
The Equestrian Section is a core feature of the Show and is one of the biggest equestrian events in the South East. The seven competition rings around the showground allow for a wide variety of classes to be enjoyed during a visit. A number of the classes are Horse of the Year Show qualifiers with top names competing at the Show. Recently introduced is a Private Driving Concours d’Elegance class which is a beautiful and elegant sight to see.
On Monday the main ring will host one of the largest collections of magnificent coaches and carriages seen in Britain, pulled by four, five and even six horses – it will look like an historic scene from a movie set.
Don’t forget to look around the specialist equestrian shops for just what you need.
