ALTERNATIVE ROUTES TO THE SURREY COUNTY COUNCIL OFFICIAL DIVERSION FOR A22 SOUTHBOUND VISITORS
The A22 is currently closed for a small section between Godstone Bypass roundabout and the junction with Miles Lane and Harts Lane. It only affects southbound traffic to the Show. Full details of alternative routes can be downloaded below.
The majority of visitors coming in smaller vehicles to the Show may choose not to follow the signposted Surrey County Council diversion which is only using A roads. The actual area of closure is very small and there are a number of alternative routes which are much shorter diversions for cars to use. However, the Show organisers have reviewed the alternative routes and strongly recommend that contractors' vehicles, large horseboxes, livestock vehicles and other larger vehicles should follow EITHER the SCC diversion or vehicles using the M23 should exit at J10 and take the A264 towards East Grinstead and follow the signs to the Show.
The advice to download gives two different short diversion routes for smaller vehicles, both of which are affected by restrictions including a bridge, overhanging trees and narrow lanes. It is important that all drivers read the advice note very carefully in order to make their own judgement about which route to follow. This advice is given in good faith in order to try and help but the organisers cannot be held responsible for any route chosen by an individual driver.
