The Imps Junior Motorbike Display Team 2009
The main ring attraction for the 2009 show, proved a real crowd pleaser, with the old and young visitors staring in amazement at the stunts from these young riders.
This year saw the Horticultural Marquee given a complete revamp and it was a real highlight of the show. It truly lived up to its name as "Little Chelsea". The Gardening Roadshow proved a great success as well.
Thousands of people flocked to the livestock area of the show over the 2 days, and no-one went away disappointed.
The Dancing Diggers 2008
Thanks to the most generous sponsorship of Mr. Martin Lovegrove (Show President 2007-2008) the show welcomed the amazing JCB Dancing Diggers into the main ring. The crowds watched the machines and operators being tested to their limit, performing dare devil stunts and formation dancing.
The show saw the welcome return of the livestock section, with more than 650 cattle entered. The grand Cattle parade on the Monday afternoon of the show was as usual a highlight to the main ring programme. The show also saw the introduction of Pig classes back at the show after years of absence, these proved a huge success.
The Coaching/ 4 in hand class again proved to be a big crowd pleaser, when they entered the main ring after their road drive, the show attracts a large number of entries to this class, something we are very proud of.
The winner of the prestigous Winston Churchill Memorial Trophy. Awarded by the President to the best exhibit in the show, was won by Claire Stockdale of Bertie's Rare Breed Pigs.
The Shetland Grand National 2007
Visitors to the 2007 show were treated to the adrenline filled Shetland Grand National, it proved a huge success with visitors young and old.
After the Foot and Mouth outbreak a few weeks before the show, the livestock section was missing from this years show, but the orgainsers and committee did everything possible to make the show a success. The Historic Vehicles were welcomed back into the Main Ring.
The introduction of a new Show jumping class the "Two fence challenge" had spectators on the edge of their seats watching some of the countries finest show jumpers battling it out.
The winner of the prestigous Winston Churchill Memorial Trophy. Awarded by the President to the best exhibit in the show, was won by Devine Nurseries of East yorkshire for their brilliant display of Gladioli.
The Kings Troop 2006
The Kings Troop performed a spectacular display at the 2006 show. The sun shone and the crowds were amazed by the horsemanship on display! The show president at the time Mr. J. Garner himself a past member of the King's Troop Royal Horse Artillary, took the salute on both days and commented that it was a real honour to do so.
As usual the Cattle parade was a huge success, the show now boasts one of the highest cattle entries in the country.
The winner of the prestigous Winston Churchill Memorial Trophy. Awarded by the President to the best exhibit in the show, was won by the Livestock sevtion of the show, and was presented to Mr. Bob Felton the livestock Committe Chairman.
