Main Attraction 2010
Cheshire Dog Display Team
The show is pleased to announce that in 2010 we are welcoming the Cheshire Dog Display Team. Starring the cream of canine talent, a superb, entertaining and informative display comprising of a wide variety of dogs of all shapes and sizes from a range of backgrounds including rescue dogs, pet dogs and doggie stars from the world of TV and photographic modelling.The crowd will be treated to a brilliant display of canine wizardry at its very best from exciting high speed agility races to fire jumping and police dog action.
The display is performed to music with an amusing and informative commentary. After the displays the team’s static stand always proves popular giving the audience chance to meet the dogs and handlers.
Cattle lines and Grand Cattle Parade
The show is very proud to be able to boast one of the largest cattle entries in the
country, visitors to the show are able to walk along the cattle lines and meet
all different types of cattle exhibited at the show, from dairy to beef breeds.
On Monday afternoon in the main ring dont miss the Grand Cattle Parade, this is one of the highlights to the show, watch all the cattle parading around the ring. Choose your best in show and see if the Judge agrees with you.
Heavy Horse Village and Heavy Horse Parade
At the south end of the showground we have the Heavy Horse Village, come and get face to face with these gentle giants, and watch as the exhibitors prepare them for the show ring, with not a hair out of place they are truly spectacular.
The Heavy Horse parade takes place in the main ring on Monday this is your chance to see these impressive animals all together.
Vintage Farm Machinery
On the west side of the showground is the display of Vintage Farm Machinery, ranging from tractors to stationary engines, some of which have been restored and some in the "as found" state. The Tractors and Steam engines will be paraded in the main ring on Monday, and is a real must see for any engine fanatic!
Historic and Classic Car Display
For all you petrol heads this section of the show is well worth a visit, come and see Edwardian Vintage,
Post Vintage Thoroughbred and Classic Cars all displayed together. From the large four seater open
touring cars of 1930's along with the graceful lines of the fixed head coupe and luxury saloons to the more humble, but still greatly loved, smaller family cars of the 1950s and 60s. There are open top sports cars and all from countries including France, Germany, Italy, Sweden and USA, not forgetting of course, the once flourishing motor industry in Great Britain. The cars will be parading in the main ring on Sunday afternoon.
The Gardening Roadshow
The Edenbridge and Oxted are delighted to welcome back the Gardening roadshow within the Horticultural marquee, gardening experts Martin Fish and Geoff Stebbings will be on hand each day to help solve your gardening questions and gardening advice.
Food Hall
With today's emphasis on national and locally sourced produce and food, a visit to the Food Hall is a must. Come and sample some of the countries best cheeses, wines, meats, chutneys to name but a few, you are sure to go home with lots of foody delights, to keep your larders well stocked until Christmas.
Antiques & Collectables Marquee
New for 2010 is the Antiques and Collectables Marquee. It is hoped that there wil be over 40 stands, selling all types of Antiques from Jewellery to furniture. As well as collectables from stamps to coins. This promises to be a very popular new additon to the show, and is well worth a look around.
plus over 300 Trade Stands
New for 2010 Antiques and Collectables marquee will be definately worth a visit, whether just browsing or looking to add to your collection.
The showground has over 300 different trade stands selling everything you may possibly want or need from Clothing to Hot tubs and Garden Furniture. You can spend hours browzing.
Falconry Display
Another popular attraction at the show is the Falconry Displays. Flying demonstrations take place on both days in the outside showing rings. There is also a static display in the Country Sports area, this is your chance to have a close up view of these majestic birds.
Country Sports Area
This area of the show is a hive of activity throughout the 2 days of the show. With Gundog displays and demonstrations, Fly Fishing tutorials, Archery and Clay Pigeon Shooting, you will not be short of things to do in this area of the show.
There are also Dog Agility and Obedience displays over the two days of the show.
Monday is a popular day for dog lovers, with the Companion Dog show and the Terrier show taking place in the afternoon, come and see if your pooch can win a rosette an dgoody bag.
Monday afternoon also see the ever popular Terrier racing. Come and watch the mayhem unfold, as these 4 legged Linford Christies battle it out to be first past the post.
